NEW AND NOTEWORTHY RELEASES ON ORBITING ORION RECORDS

David's WAAG release,
Awakenings
From his very first outing for ambient label we are all ghosts - a homage to the label and it's artists called "Ghosts We All Are" to the collaboration with WAAG veteran Cousin Silas released last year, label honcho Thomas Mathie has been enamored of Gerard's work. This represents his first, full-length solo recording, a work Mathie describes as "exceptional" and "electronic music at its very best. Check out Awakenings for yourself at the link below:

Out Now!
The Mallard Variations
You could call it the album that took twenty years in the making: back in 2005, David was working on what would be called Bremsstrahlung when, by chance, he connected with David Borden - one of the major architects of Mother Mallard, a 70's electronic ensemble. While subsequent releases featured many an oft-handed homage, with The Mallard Variations Gerard has finally created a concept album borne of his love and appreciation of the outfit. The Lost Elysium album
as we bask in the warmth of a dying star, the final chapter in the musical trilogy by Elysium was released in October 2015. Following a number of contract commitments and disagreements, the band members were able to secure the rights to their last, lost recording. Stillstream radio program "At Water's Edge", hosted by Rebekkah Hilgraves premiered the album in its entirety, where listeners described it as hypnotic, beautiful and epic. You can stream a rebroadcast of the program here:

Experimental Pop Art
Experimental Pop Art embraces minimalism, Berlin-school, and audio concrete with nods to Harry Partch, Steve Reich, Sturart Dempster, Biosphere, and others. "Mitigating Chaos" has been added to SomaFm's Mission Control, with more tracks to come on their playlists. Stream and purchase the album on Bandcamp now.
